One size doesn’t fit all. And this could not be more true for Auckland Transport (AT), whom De Vere have proudly dressed since 2018. AT employs hundreds of people, across multiple business units, from office workers to operators, and manages multiple brands servicing the Auckland region. AT uniforms have a wide range of designs and styles to suit a diverse range of roles, from customer service representatives to bus drivers.

We were engaged to ensure individual employee needs were met with fit for purpose workwear, whilst streamlining their uniform management system, building efficiencies and creating a more sustainable solution.

Together we implemented:

  • a comprehensive range of clothing, catering to all sizes, functions, and seasonal demands, ensuring that every employee was appropriately dressed.

  • a size range that extends from XXS to 10XL, with the ability to special order anything and complete alterations within a short space of time. We pre-hold their fabric (at no extra cost) for fast and efficient turn around.

  • innovative solutions like 3-in-1 jackets, replacing multiple outer garments with a single, versatile option. We also employed technical fabrics to extend the operating temperature range, reducing the need for layering.

  • base garments that can be used across multiple departments and stakeholders and were easily customizable locally in New Zealand to meet specific branding requirements.

We have implemented a system that runs across all their services. With a diverse workforce and individual needs, we produce single units of some items and thousands of others. From a one-off pair of pants tailored to a man with one leg, to a base garment used across the workforce.

One of the key successes in our partnership with Auckland Transport has been the creation and management of a high-quality, dedicated "login-only" website. This portal streamlined uniform ordering and communication, making the entire process efficient and user-friendly.

Our partnership is ever evolving as we address new needs, introduce custom initiatives like ‘designing for circularity, and seek to continuously improve our products and processes with tailored solutions.
